7 beauty tips to survive winter weather

Can we all agree when we feel good, we do good? In winter, it’s rough to look good. Wind is whipping around, cold air is swirling, causing lips to chap, and faces to dry out. We never drink enough water in the winter, either, because who wants to carry something cold around in the winter? We want hot beverages!!! So what’s a boring girl to do for her beauty regime in the winter? Lucky for you, I’m the king of boring girl beauty tips!

Drink water.

Water is one of the most important parts of a beauty regime. It keeps your skin hydrated, and reduces wrinkles. It helps flush out the toxins, and helps keep the glow happening. Keep the water flowing, so your skin keeps glowing. <I know, I rolled my eyes there, too. CORNBALL moment. My apologies, it won’t happen again.>

Exfoliate.

Dead skin has got to go. Exfoliating a few times a week helps get rid of the dead skin. It also helps regenerate skin, which means new skin can grow. Hot wash cloth on the face to open the pours. Clean face with your favorite cleanser. Exfoliate with your favorite exfoliation product. Moisturize. It’s not something you do every night, but one to two times a week would be plenty.

Color hair with great hair color.

It’s important for people to use the right products not just for skin, but also for hair. Dried out, limp hair is not attractive. Coloring hair is a great way to condition your hair, but try to stick with higher quality hair color products. Look for brands that don’t have every chemical known to science listed on the ingredients on the box. Instead, shoot for healthier hair with beautiful handcrafted color.

Moisturize your face.

The right cleanser, a fantastic serum, the right daily moisturizer, and the best quality evening moisturizer, are all important to keeping your face looking healthy. Yes, that’s right, don’t just worry about moisturizing during the day with a great lotion, but also at night! Keep drinking more water to keep the body hydrated from the inside, and keep the skin moisturized with the best products available. Winter weather won’t stand a chance.

Moisturize your body.

It’s not all about your face! You’ve got to take care of your body, your hands, and your feet. Winter is more than brutal on your entire body, but the worst of it is the dry heat when you’re sitting around in your house staying OUT of the cold weather! Yes, the wind and negative degree temps don’t help, but the forced air coming out of your vents is drying you out on the inside, and the outside. Again, keep drinking that water, and make sure you’re using moisturizers after showers to keep the skin from getting flaky, scaly and peeling off like a snake skin!

Pamper your hands & feet.

When your hands feel great, and your hands are smooth as silk, you just walk a little taller. You shake hands with a little more confidence. Now, when you’ve got a killer manicure and pedicure, even if no one can see your pedicure, it gives you that extra little hop in your step! A little extra oomph in your handshake. Your rings look better on your hands when they’re moisturized, feel like silk, and the nails are looking fabulous. It doesn’t matter if there’s color on your nails, or they’re just healthy and perfectly manicured. No color, no problem. Just pamper, pamper, pamper!

Use SUNSCREEN.

The sun is always out. Even when it’s behind clouds, it’s still out. Sun rays are beating down on your skin in the Spring, Summer, Fall, and of course, in the winter. Snow falling? Doesn’t matter. During the daylight hours your face should have sunscreen on it. If you don’t want to do an extra step in your morning routine, get a moisturizer with sunscreen in it. Now, there’s even tinted moisturizer with sunscreen in it. Sunscreen on your face should be at least 15, but if you can do 30, it’s just that much better. Do it, you won’t regret it.
